Last Thursday we had another livestream and for all of you who couldn’t be there, here is a short summary.
The stream was about telling you that we are splitting up VAN PI and Pekaway . VAN PI will remain an English-language open source and we are (reluctantly) moving back to GitHub because there is a larger community there. However, we are not a big fan of Microsoft's data security or of continuing to train ChatGPT. Pekaway, on the other hand, is bringing commercial products onto the market with a closed backend to ensure consistent support for these products. These products then also have all the required certificates such as CE, ROHS or EMV.
That's why we will be at the VanLife Ferropolis on July 20-23, 2023 , and will be presenting our latest Pekaway product there.
A new update for VAN PI OS was also announced for week 13. Since VAN Pi will continue to exist, new tutorials will be added to Patreon in the future, including the new tutorial on the mini WiFi touch display . The income from Patreon will then be used for further developments, test devices or hackathons.
And finally : on our YouTube channel we will increasingly show exciting project videos or new product presentations.
If you have any further questions, please write to us at briefkasten@pekaway or via Insta-DM :)
